-
Strawberry Preserves — 9 half-pints
-
These are a standard and a favorite. These came from our friends at King Orchards
July 17, 2021
-
Raspberry Jelly — 6 half-pints
-
This is the first time we have strained out the seeds and pulp and just made jelly. Seems to have worked fine! These are all from our property.

-
Raspberry Preserves — 8 half-pints
-
Made a raspberry pie and some preserves. These, also, are all from our property.
August 14, 2021
-
Green Beans — 10 pints
-
First time trying these. One of us thinks they'll be soft and yucky. Might be, have to see. These were fresh-picked from King Orchards .
August 15, 2021
-
Dill Pickles — 7 pints
-
Standard dill pickles, nothin' special. The cucumbers came from one of our favorite farmers Joe Coleman at LakeView Nursery (formerly Coleman Centennial Farm). The dill we grew ourselves.

-
Giardiniera — 12 pints
-
We had a lot of extra cucumbers so decided to make some Garden Mix. Made a little more than we had planned, but...we like, so it's okay.
August 20, 2021
-
Dried Peppers — 1 quart
-
The deer came, tried one of our poblano peppers, spit it out deciding they didn't like them. However, the leaves of all of our pepper plants were, apparently, delicious as they stripped the plants bare, leaving only whatever peppers had grown. So, we picked them all and put them in the dehydrator. Bells, Anaheims, Shishitos, Poblanos, Mad Hatters...

-
Chicken Soup — 11 quarts
-
Lots of veggies coming in to harvest so we made one of our favorites. We were finally able to find someone around who had chicken feet, a crucial ingredient in making the stock! Hopefully this will be tasty.
August 28, 2021
-
Peaches — 12 quarts
-
Found a new provider who gave us a really good deal. Country Apple Farm Market. Unfortunately they don't have a website.
August 30, 2021
-
Rasam — 10 quarts
-
Our version, hot, spicy, dense tomato soup. Mmmmm. All our tomatoes come from LakeView Nursery .
September 1, 2021
-
Pasta Sauce — 13 pints
-
Haven't canned this in years but thought I'd try again. New recipe, which I suspect has too much garlic (can it be???). Oh well, we will see how it turns out on pasta. Of course, the tomatoes came from LakeView Nursery .
-
Corn Chowder — 8 quarts
-
Warm and comforting in the middle of winter. This retains the corn flavor really well. It's meant to be peppery but you can alter that as you wish. Our corn came from Bolt's Farm .
-
Tomato Sauce — 12 half-pints
-
As we got so many tomatoes from LakeView Nursery we decided to make some tomato sauce, just to have on the shelf when we need it. Just cooked down tomatoes!
September 5, 2021
-
Tomato Chutney — 16 paus
-
Extra dense and thick this year with delicious tomatoes from LakeView Nursery .
September 7, 2021
-
Whole Tomatoes — 8 quarts
-
This year we froze them instead of canning. No special reason!
September 12, 2021
-
Spiced Plums — 5 pints
-
Came across this recipe and thought we'd try it out. Looks interesting. Have to let them sit for a while before opening one and trying it.
-
Plum Jam — 12 paus
-
One of these did not seal and rather than reprocess it we simply stuck it in the fridge. However, beforehand we tasted it. Oh man! These are delicious!
-
Plums — 5 quarts
-
First time we've canned plums. They were quite easy, once we figured out how to pit them. We try a hot pack rather than our usual raw pack and we'll see how that goes. The plums came from King Orchards .
September 22, 2021
-
Carrots — 4 quarts
-
Had extra carrots and decided to preserve them.
September 26, 2021
-
Wholegrain Mustard — 7 gills
-
We like to make these small quantities. It's easier to simply open one when we need it, and usually use it all up at once.
-
Apple Pie — 4 pies
-
We bought 50 pounds of seconds from King Orchards . One of the things we made were apple pies, which we then froze for later in the year. Its our first time doing it so we'll see how it goes!
