Dill Pickles
We used to do live pickles but haven't in a few years. This recipe works for canned pickles.
Ingredients (7 pints)

7 bay leaves

2 Tbsp peppercorns

7 dill stems and flowers

7 garlic cloves

3 lbs small pickling cucumbers

6 cups water

½ cup sugar

3 Tbs pickling salt

1 cup + 2 Tbs white vinegar
Directions

Divide bay leaves, peppercorns, dill stems and garlic into the bottoms of 7 pint jars. Pack cucumbers tightly into jars.

In a medium pot, combine water, sugar, salt and vinegar. Bring pickling juice to a boil then pour over cucumbers leaving ¼" of headspace at the top.

Water bath 15 minutes.
