Strawberries
The best way to preserve as-close-to-picked flavor as possible.
Ingredients (10 half-pints)

5 qts fresh strawberries

~1 Cup sugar
Directions

Gently wash the strawberries

Remove the caps and slice in half

In a large bowl add the strawberries and sugar and mix well

Cover lightly and refrigerate overnight

Stir again to thoroughly mix the berries and juice

Fill freezer bags, about ½ - 1 pound per bag depending on how much you want to use at a time

Squeeze out as much air as you can, press the bag flat

Place the bags in the freezer laying flat. Once frozen they can be stored upright.
