Apple Pie
Ingredients
- 2 pie crusts
- 2½ lbs mixed apples
- 2 Tbs flour
- ¾ C sugar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 Tbs lemon juice
Directions
- Heat oven to 375°.
- Prepare crusts (they should be rolled out and chilled).
- Peel, core and chop the apples.
- Combine apples, flour, ¾ cup of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and lemon juice. Mix until combined.
- Place one pie crust in pie pan.
- Fill with the apple mixture.
- Place the remaining pie crust on top. Either do a lattice or create some other openings to let steam out.
- Sprinkle crust with the 1 teaspoon of sugar. Return entire pie to the refigerator for 10 minutes.
- Bake for 50 - 55 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
- Cool on a pie rack.
