Tamagodon

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 onion
  • 2 scallions
  • 1 Tbs sugar
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs mirin
  • 2 cups steamed rice
  • 1 Tbs toasted sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Slice the onion into thin strips.
  2. Cut the scallion into small pieces.
  3. Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl and roughly beat.
  4. Put the sugar, soy sauce, mirin and 6 tablespoons of water in a bowl and mix well.
  5. Put oil in a pan and add the sliced onions. Stir it until the onions begin to brown.
  6. Pour in the sauce and bring it to a boil.
  7. Once it begins boiling, pour the egg mixture around the pan. Add the chopped scallions.
  8. Once the egg is cooked, pour the whole over steamed rice.
  9. Top with sesame seeds and serve.
