Apple Chutney

Rich, complex, delicious. The flavor and texture are divine.

Ingredients (7 half-pints)

  • 8 apples, pared, cored and chopped
  • ½ cup onion chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • ¾ pound raisins
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • ½ Tablespoons mustard seed
  • 1 Tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon canning salt
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 cups white vinegar

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients and simmer until thick, about 1-2 hours
  2. Fill jars leaving ½" headspace.
  3. Water bath for 10 minutes.
