Synopsis: An ordinary Japanese family slowly disintegrates after its patriarch loses his job at a prominent company.

A engrossing film, reminiscent of House of Sand and Fog wherein we watch the desperation of a man who has lost his job, attempt to keep face and take care of his family in circumstances that are less than ideal. Here we see the family dynamic as it all begins to unravel.

The title refers to the fact that one of the sons is a pianist, and quite a good one. The story of the family, especially as it is lifted by the music, is very well done. Wiithout giving anything away, this movie is well worth watching.
