Synopsis: A young man comes to the last hometown of painter Vincent van Gogh to deliver the troubled artist's final letter and ends up investigating his final days there.

This movie is wonderful in several different ways. First is the artwork. Even if you are not familiar with the works of Van Gogh you will recognize some of the scenes. It is truly masterful how so many of his painting form the backdrop of this story. And, don't forget, these are animated. Each painting comes to life as the characters move through their scenes.

And those characters! We don't know how accurate the story is to the life of Van Gogh, but the tale told is fascinating and keeps our attention. What exactly happened and why. There are numerous versions and numerous twists. The drama unfolds slowly and relentlessly and never actually fully resolves. Excellent.

All in all this is an very good movie and one you should definitely watch. The acting, the writing, the animation were all top notch.
