Synopsis: A family of Irish immigrants adjust to life on the mean streets of Hell's Kitchen.

This is the story of Johnny [Paddy Considine] and Sarah [Samantha Morton] and their children Christy [Sarah Bolger] and Ariel [Emma Bolger]. They are immigrating from Ireland to New York City.

We cannot praise this movie enough. It is beyond wonderful, it is exquisite. Considine and Morton are incredible in their roles and the burden they carry with them is tragic and hard yet with gentle loving mutual support they survive.

We have said many times before that is is very rare for a movie to portray children as children and not as mini-adults. Here the Bolger sisters are brilliant. And what can be said about "the screamer" artist Mateo [Djimon Hounsou]. His character and his interaction with the children is worth seeing just for itself.

All in all, this is a must see. Touching, funny, heart-warming, tragic, sad and uplifting. This is an all round incredible movie.
