This was marketed for home video under the title Live. Die. Repeat. but this films title is really Edge of Tomorrow and is based on the novel All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, this tells the tale of Bill Cage a soldier who is killed in combat fighting against an alien invasion. However, upon dying he "wakes up" and relives the last 24 hours again but with his memory intact.

This is really Groundhog Day with aliens, and a lot of violence. The aliens are quite interesting and different. However, it is very unusual for us to give a Tom Cruise movie 4 stars, and indicates that this is actually a rather clever plot element and is quite well done. We have to surmise that there are hundreds of repeats of the day, even though we only see a few of them. Still, there are no glaring logical inconsistencies in the tale and it certainly engrosses us all the way through.

As always, Emily Blunt is excellent – she is one the best actors working today, in our opinion. Cruise manages his part quite well. Also, as always, Bill Paxton is simply delightful as Master Sergeant Farell of Science Hill, Kentucky.

Cage: "You're an American?"
Farell: "No, sir! I'm from Kentucky."

All in all this is a great romp through the looping variation of time travel. This is a war movie as well and there is plenty of violence so be prepared for that.
