Synopsis: Documentary about red beret wearing Jimmy (Tsutomu) Mirikitani, a feisty painter working and living on the street, near the World Trade Center, when 9/11 devastates the neighborhood. A nearby film editor, Linda Hattendorf, persuades elderly Jimmy to move in with her, while seeking a permanent home for him.

After 9/11 LInda Hattendorf considered making a documentary on the homeless in Manhattan and the effect the attack had on them. In the process of researching this, she came across Jimmy Mirikitani, selling his paintings of cats by a Korean market and living on the streets. She invites him to come stay with her while she tries to find a place for him to live.

This documentary is the story of her learning who this man really was, and what his life had been before he became homeless. It is an amazing story and he is an amazing man. You will not believe what she uncovers unless you watch the film, which you should do!
