Arrival is a very intellectual and ethereal addition to the Sci-Fi genre of first contact with aliens. Although most members of Film Club are most definitely not fans of Sci-Fi, everyone enjoyed this film.

Amy Adams is always quite wonderful and here does a magnificent job. The whole movie takes on a otherworldly feel that marries with the actual aliens quite beautifully.

There are several twists to the story and you will not guess what is going to happen. In fact, many had to spend time thinking and discussing the film afterwards to understand exactly what had taken place. However, the story is so well told, and so beautiful, it is well worth the effort
